The classic recipe focuses on the subtle flavours of the meat, onions, and spices such as allspice and nutmeg. Here’s a refined version of the classic recipe without garlic: — Classic Swedish Meatballs Recipe Ingredients: - 300g minced beef - 250g minced pork - 1 large onion, finely chopped - 1 egg - 100ml cream - 50g breadcrumbs - 1/2 tsp ground allspice - 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg - Salt and pepper, to taste - Butter (for frying) Instructions: 1. Prepare the Onions: Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent. This should take about 5 minutes. Allow to cool. 2. Mix the Meat: In a large bowl, combine the minced beef and pork. Add the cooled onions, egg, cream, breadcrumbs, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Using your hands first then followed by a wooden spoon, mix everything vigorously until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
